Chandigarh, November 18, 2025: The ongoing Panjab University Bachao Morcha, which is demanding the announcement of the Senate election schedule, has taken on the character of a mini Kisan Morcha with its vibrant langar sewa.
For the past few weeks, the protest opposite the Vice Chancellor’s office has seen continuous community service with food being served by a diverse group of supporters, including students and small children.

Every day, attendees are offered a variety of items such as dal, roti, tea, biscuits, choori, sandwiches, sugarcane juice, bread pakodas, rice, and kheer, provided by different individuals and organizations.
The protest site also witnesses the presence of prominent political leaders and artists supporting the cause.Despite cold weather, the protesting students spend their nights on mattresses and have set up small tents to sustain their agitation.

A literary table with a collection of books is also available for visitors.Gagandeep Singh of Students for Society (SFS) explained that initially, students brought tea from a nearby canteen on their own.
Soon, people from neighboring villages began contributing food and langar services. The movement now benefits from a wide array of food offerings, thanks to the grace of God and community support.

This peaceful yet determined morcha exemplifies the students’ strong demand for holding Senate polls, reflecting their resolve through continued protest and widespread sewa participation.
