  Chandigarh, January 15, 2026: The Election Commission of India on Thursday appointed IAS Anindita Mitra, 2007-batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Punjab, replacing IAS officer Sibin C.
  
  Previously, IAS officer Dr. S. Karuna Raju, husband of Anindita Mitra, also held the post of Punjab CEO.
