Crackdown on Drug Syndicate:
Wife, mother of notorious Smuggler arrested with heroin, drug money, gold, silver
Ferozepur, January 15, 2026: In a significant blow to the cross-border drug trade, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ferozepur Range has arrested the wife and mother of a high-profile drug smuggler, Sandeep Singh (alias Seepa), who is currently wanted in connection with a 50kg heroin seizure.
Acting on precise intelligence, ANTF teams conducted a targeted raid on January 12, 2026. The operation led to the arrest of two primary suspects: Rano, wife of Shinder Singh and Harpreet Kaur, wife of Sandeep Singh – mother and wife of Sandeep Singh.
During the search, authorities recovered 2 kilograms of heroin and ₹47.50 lakh in drug money. Additionally, the teams seized 100 grams of gold and 500 grams of silver.
The investigation stems from a massive recovery in 2025, where Sandeep Singh was identified as the mastermind behind a 50kg heroin consignment. Under the supervision of the AIG Gurinderbir Singh and DSP Bhupinder Singh of ANTF Ferozepur Range, technical and ground surveillance revealed that the smuggler’s family members were not mere bystanders but were actively managing the financial logistics and distribution of the drug proceeds.
The ANTF officials noted that the family had amassed significant wealth through illicit activities. To facilitate their operations and maintain a high-profile lifestyle, the suspects were reportedly using luxury vehicles, which have been identified as part of the investigation.
With this latest action, the total recovery in this specific case has reached to 2 kilograms of heroin, ₹68.05 lakh in Cash (Drug Money). A fresh case has been registered at the ANTF Police Station and further investigations are on.
