Punjab Deputy Speaker lays foundation stone of Rs 3.7 cr bridge at Shri Khuralgarh Sahib

Hoshiarpur (Punjab), January 15, 2026: In a significant step toward improving infrastructure and facilitating pilgrims, the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, on Thursday laid the foundation stone of a new bridge at the historic religious site of Shri Khuralgarh Sahib, associated with Shri Guru Ravidas Sahib.
The bridge will connect Minar-e-Begampura with Tap Asthan Khuralgarh Sahib and will be constructed by the Punjab Government at an estimated cost of ₹3.70 crore. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Speaker said the project will ensure smooth, safe and convenient access for devotees visiting the revered site. He assured that the construction would be completed within the stipulated timeframe, maintaining full transparency and strict quality standards.
Highlighting the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, Rouri said the Punjab Government is committed to celebrating the occasion with due respect and religious fervour.
He emphasized that all necessary arrangements would be completed well in advance to ensure a hassle-free experience for devotees.
The Deputy Speaker further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is making continuous efforts for the overall development of Punjab, with special attention to religious and cultural heritage sites.
On the occasion, Baba Kewal Singh, Chief Sevadar of the Gurdwara, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Speaker and the Chief Minister for initiating the development project. Baba Sukhdev Singh and Baba Naresh Singh also honoured S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri by presenting him with a siropa.
