‘Truth has prevailed’: SAD welcomes Majithia’s bail; Watch Video Alleges Political Vendetta by AAP Exposed

Chandigarh, February 2, 2026: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail to its senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a disproportionate assets case, asserting that “truth has won” and claiming that the political vendetta unleashed by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been exposed.
Senior SAD leaders Dr Daljit Singh Cheema and Arshdeep Singh Kler said the AAP-led Punjab government had made every possible effort to keep Majithia behind bars by allegedly fabricating a false disproportionate assets case, which it failed to defend before the apex court.
They alleged that after the AAP government failed to file a challan in the narcotics case registered against Majithia, and after the Supreme Court dismissed the state’s special leave petition challenging the bail granted to him in that case, the government chose to entangle the Akali leader in what they termed another “false” disproportionate assets case. The SAD leaders claimed that this case too would eventually meet the same fate as the narcotics case.
Dr Daljit Singh Cheema alleged that the action against Majithia was driven by a desperate attempt to silence him, as he had been consistently criticising the policies of the state government and raising issues concerning the people of Punjab. He further alleged that Majithia’s human rights were violated during the process.
The SAD leaders asserted that the people of Punjab would give a befitting reply to the AAP government for what they described as the misuse of the police and investigating agencies to frame political opponents in motivated cases.
