Punjab Chief Minister’s Mother Harpal Kaur visits Pakhi Kalan village, reviews development works
Faridkot, February 6, 2026: Mrs Harpal Kaur, mother of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, visited the village of Pippli today, where she attended the wedding ceremony of Jagjit Singh Jaggi, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She congratulated the family and interacted warmly with the guests present at the function, sharing in their happiness.
On this occasion, MLA Faridkot Gurditt Singh Sekhon, his wife, Mrs Beant Kaur Sekhon, and his mother, Mrs Baljit Kaur Sekhon, were present. They welcomed Mrs Harpal Kaur on her arrival in the village.
Following the wedding ceremony, Mrs Harpal Kaur visited various parts of the village Pippli to review the ongoing development works. She inspected the condition and progress of streets and drains, roads, sanitation arrangements, drinking water facilities, street lighting, and other basic civic amenities. She also visited the government school in the village to assess its facilities.
Interacting with the villagers, Mrs Harpal Kaur listened to their issues, needs, and suggestions, and assured them that the Punjab government is making continuous efforts for the all-around development of villages. She stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is taking several historic decisions in the public interest, ensuring benefits reach every section of society.
She said that party workers are the backbone of any political party, and that is why she personally came to share the joy of a party worker’s wedding. She also informed people about the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme, under which free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family is being provided in government and empanelled hospitals. In addition, she shared details about the Punjab government’s ongoing “War Against Drugs” campaign.
Several dignitaries, party leaders, workers, and village residents were present on the occasion, visiting a significant and encouraging event for the local community.
