Experimental Two-Minute stoppage introduced for Vande Bharat Express at Jalandhar Cantt
Ferozepur, February 6, 2026: In a move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, the Railways has announced an experimental stoppage of two minutes for the New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express at Jalandhar Cantt. (JRC) station. The temporary stoppage will come into effect from April 2, 2026.
According to railway officials, Train No. 22439 (New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra) and Train No. 22440 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi) will now halt at Jalandhar Cantt. station for two minutes on an experimental basis.
As per the revised schedule, Train No. 22439 will arrive at Jalandhar Cantt. at 10:00 hrs and depart at 10:02 hrs. In the return direction, Train No. 22440 will arrive at Jalandhar Cantt. at 18:51 hrs and depart at 18:53 hrs. The train will continue to halt at other scheduled stations, including Ludhiana Junction and Pathankot Cantt.
Railway authorities stated that this experimental stoppage has been introduced keeping in view the demand of rail passengers from the region and will be reviewed based on passenger response and operational feasibility.
