Police bust drug network in Ferozepur, recover 5.765 kg heroin; 3 arrested
Ferozepur, March 21, 2026: In a major crackdown under the NDPS Act, Ferozepur Police have arrested three accused and recovered a total of 5 kg 765 grams of heroin in separate operations as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh.”
Divulging with details, SSP Ferozepur Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that acting on specific inputs, CIA Staff Zira arrested Jasvir Singh alias Kaka and Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukhi, residents of Ferozepur, and recovered 1 kg 52 grams of heroin from their possession. A case FIR No. 90 dated March 18, 2026, under Sections 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Sadar, Ferozepur.
In another operation on March 19, police arrested Al Baksh alias Kaka and seized 2 kg 725 grams of heroin. A separate case FIR No. 94 was registered under the NDPS Act.
In a third action, on March 20, the police apprehended another unidentified accused and recovered 1 kg 988 grams of heroin, with FIR No. 95 registered at Police Station Sadar.
SSP informed that accused Al Baksh already wanted in three cases of NDPS and Arms Acts and drug money of 2024 on seizure of 7 kg heroin, 50 gm, Rs 36 lakh drug money, 3 pistols, one rifle 315 bore, of 2024 for recovery of 50 gm heroin, Rs 2 lakh drug money, two vehicles and in another case of 2024 for recovery of 105 gm heroin, 2 pistols and 5 live cartridges, was already under surveillance of police.
However, further investigations are underway to trace forward and backward links of the drug network. SSP reiterated commitment of the police to eradicate drug trafficking and appealed to the public to cooperate in making the campaign successful.
