New Delhi, March 26, 2026: Amid escalating tensions and war-like conditions in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high-level meeting with Chief Ministers of various states on March 27 via video conferencing.
The meeting aims to review the preparedness of states in dealing with the possible impact of the ongoing conflict and to strengthen coordination between the Centre and states. According to official sources, discussions will focus on ensuring a unified “Team India” approach to tackle emerging challenges.
Key issues likely to be addressed include supply chain disruptions, energy security concerns, and the safety of Indian citizens in the affected regions. The Centre is expected to outline a coordinated strategy to manage any potential fallout of the crisis.
States currently undergoing Vidhan Sabha elections will not participate in the meeting due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. Instead, a separate meeting of Chief Secretaries from those states will be convened through the Cabinet Secretariat to ensure administrative preparedness without affecting the election process.
Officials described the West Asia situation as a global challenge, stating that the Prime Minister’s initiative is crucial to ensure national readiness and a coordinated response in case of any emergency.
