Chandigarh, April 25, 2026: Former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Saturday launched a sharp attack on both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Aam Aadmi Party, alleging that they are working in tandem to weaken democratic institutions.
Randhawa claimed that both parties are “two sides of the same coin” and accused them of compromising constitutional values for political power. He urged the people of Punjab to understand what he termed as the “intentions and propaganda” of both parties.
Asserting that democracy is under threat, the Congress leader said only the Indian National Congress has the capacity to safeguard the Constitution and strengthen democratic institutions. He appealed to citizens across the country to support Congress in order to counter what he described as attempts to undermine the democratic framework.
Randhawa further alleged that some AAP leaders, including Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak, were indirectly aiding the BJP’s agenda of establishing dominance in Parliament and state assemblies.
He also accused central agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation of being misused to pressure opposition leaders into switching sides, claiming that the public mandate is being “disrespected and manipulated.”
Calling AAP the BJP’s “B-team,” Randhawa alleged that the party had built its politics on false narratives against Congress, which are now collapsing. He concluded by saying that Punjab’s future lies in strengthening Congress, adding that “two wrongs do not make a right.”
