‘Show Proof or Apologise’: Ravneet Bittu challenges CM Mann over BJP allegations in Punjab blasts row

Chandigarh, May 6, 2026: Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu on Tuesday challenged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to either present evidence backing his allegations against the BJP in connection with recent blasts in Punjab or publicly apologise.
Addressing a press conference in the presence of BJP Punjab Media Head Vineet Joshi, Bittu said that if the Chief Minister has proof, he should immediately direct the police to register cases against BJP leaders and place the evidence before the public.
Referring to the current security situation, Bittu said that after “Operation Sindoor,” the country stood united, but the Chief Minister’s remarks linking the BJP to the blasts were “serious and unfortunate.” He noted that Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav has already indicated the involvement of Pakistan’s ISI, while the state government continues to level political accusations.
The Union Minister also pointed to previous attacks on BJP leaders, including an incident at the residence of senior leader Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar, questioning the progress of investigations and arrests.
Bittu alleged that law and order in Punjab has deteriorated, claiming that incidents of violence, including killings and explosions, have become frequent. He accused the state government of indulging in “political blame games” to deflect from governance failures.
He further warned that if the Chief Minister neither produces evidence nor apologises, the BJP would pursue legal action and approach the courts.
Echoing similar concerns, Vineet Joshi said the Aam Aadmi Party government was making “baseless allegations” to divert attention from pressing issues in the state, adding that the public is now aware of the government’s shortcomings.
