Ludhiana (Punjab), May 22, 2026: A young lawyer preparing for judicial services examinations lost her life after a speeding car allegedly rammed into her scooter near Punjab Agricultural University on Thursday evening, triggering outrage among family members who have demanded strict action against the accused driver.
The deceased has been identified as Shivani Wadhwa, a resident of Ludhiana who was reportedly returning home on her Activa scooter when the accident took place near Saggu Chowk.
According to information provided to police by a relative accompanying her on another vehicle, a speeding car allegedly struck Shivani’s scooter with great force, throwing her onto the road and leaving her critically injured. She was immediately rushed to a private multi-specialty hospital in Ludhiana, where doctors later declared her dead.
Shivani reportedly had been preparing for competitive examinations with the dream of becoming a judicial officer while also carrying the responsibility of supporting her family.
