ECI revises SIR schedule for Punjab Electoral Rolls; Draft rolls now to be published on Aug 3

Chandigarh, May 29, 2026: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a partial amendment to the earlier announced schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Punjab.
Providing details, Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab Anindita Mitra said that the draft electoral rolls will now be published on August 3, 2026.
She further informed that the period for filing claims and objections will also run from August 3 to September 2, 2026. The disposal of claims and objections will be carried out between August 3 and September 28, 2026.
The Chief Electoral Officer added that the remaining schedule will remain unchanged as per the notification issued on May 14, 2026.
