Chandigarh, May 29, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday thanked the people of Punjab for what he described as a “spectacular victory” of the party in urban local body elections across the state.
In a post following the civic poll results, Kejriwal said the people of Punjab had expressed their trust in the work of the Bhagwant Mann-led government through their mandate, and congratulated party workers for the performance.
He said the vote reflected public approval of the government’s policies and assured that the party would continue working with the same commitment in the future.
Taking a sharp political swipe, Kejriwal also claimed that what he termed the “ED party” had been “wiped out” by voters. He alleged that the party had earlier targeted small traders in Punjab through repeated raids and said the election outcome was a form of public response to those actions.
The AAP leadership described the results as a strong endorsement of its governance and development agenda in the state.
