“Punjab Has Once Again Placed Its Trust in Us”: Punjab CM Mann on big MC Polls win

Chandigarh, May 29, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday said that the people of Punjab have once again endorsed the work of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, following its strong performance in the municipal elections across the state.
He said that after victories in the Assembly, Lok Sabha, Panchayat elections, and now in municipal corporations and nagar panchayats, the party has secured a major mandate, claiming that AAP candidates have won more than 90 per cent of municipal councils.
Mann further asserted that even if the combined votes of opposition parties like Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and Bharatiya Janata Party were added together, they would not match AAP’s support base. He also claimed that the BJP had slipped to the fifth position in the civic polls.
Describing the result as an endorsement of governance, the Chief Minister said the victory reflects public support for initiatives such as free electricity, Aam Aadmi Clinics, improved schools, and transparent recruitment processes.
He congratulated all winning candidates and party volunteers, stating that development in every city, town, and village would now be pursued without discrimination. He added that the government follows a “positive and development-oriented politics” model aimed at inclusive growth across Punjab.
