ANTF arrests 3 drug peddlers, recovers 6.155 kg heroin and 2.795 kg opium
Ferozepur, June 13, 2026:The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Ferozepur Range, has achieved a major success in its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking by registering three separate cases and arresting three accused persons. A total of 6.155 kg heroin, 2.795 kg opium and other suspected substances were recovered during the operations.
The action was carried out under the directions of ADGP, ANTF Punjab, and under the leadership of Gurinderbir Singh, SP, ANTF Ferozepur.
In the first case, registered on June 11 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at ANTF Police Station SAS Nagar, accused Davinder Singh alias Ekam, a resident of Dharamkot in Moga district, was arrested and 3.055 kg heroin was recovered from his possession.
In the second case, registered on June 12 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at ANTF Police Station SAS Nagar, accused Prem Singh, a resident of Machhiwara, Ferozepur district, was arrested. Police recovered 3.100 kg heroin along with a motorcycle from him.
In the third case, registered on June 13 under Section 18 of the NDPS Act at ANTF Police Station SAS Nagar, accused Ranjit Singh alias Rana, a resident of Amritsar, was arrested. Police recovered 2.795 kg opium, 204 grams herbal material, 485 grams white powder and 1.035 kg black-coloured liquid substance. A Swift car was also taken into possession.
The three cases were registered by different teams of ANTF Ferozepur Range. Further investigation is underway to identify and trace the main suppliers and links involved in the drug network.
ANTF officials stated that strict action against drug traffickers will continue in the future as part of the campaign to curb the menace of drugs.
