Selected Post Offices to remain open on holidays for Raksha Bandhan services
Ferozepur, July 2, 2026: To facilitate the smooth dispatch of Rakhi consignments during the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, selected post offices under the Ferozepur Postal Division will remain open on Sundays and other government holidays between July 15 and August 28, 2026.
Superintendent of Post Offices, Ravi Kumar, said the special arrangement has been made to ensure that sisters can send Rakhi to their brothers without any inconvenience during the festive season.
Under the special schedule, the booking counters at the designated post offices will remain open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on all Sundays and public holidays. The post offices covered under this arrangement include Ferozepur Head Post Office, Ferozepur City Sub Post Office, Zira Sub Post Office, Jalalabad (West) Sub Post Office, Fazilka Sub Post Office and Abohar Sub Post Office.
Ravi Kumar said elaborate arrangements have been made to handle the expected increase in postal traffic and avoid any inconvenience to customers. Besides postal booking services, the counters will also provide Aadhaar enrolment and correction facilities during this period.
He added that customers will also be able to purchase special Rakhi packing materials, including Rakhi boxes and Rakhi envelopes, at the designated post offices to ensure the safe and secure delivery of Rakhi parcels.
The Postal Department has appealed to the public to make use of the extended services and send their Rakhi well in advance to ensure timely delivery before the festival.
