Khanna (Punjab), July 5, 2026: Amid continuing factionalism within the Punjab Congress, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring held a closed-door meeting with senior Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Shamsher Singh Dullo on Saturday, fuelling fresh political speculation over the party’s internal dynamics.
The meeting took place at Dullo’s factory in Kauri village near Khanna and lasted for nearly 45 minutes. While Captain Sandeep Singh Sandhu accompanied Raja Warring to the venue, the detailed political discussions were held privately between Warring and Dullo.
According to party sources, the two leaders discussed the prevailing situation within the Punjab Congress, organisational issues, guidance from the party high command and the strategy for strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
The meeting assumes significance as the Punjab Congress continues to grapple with internal differences despite recent efforts by the party leadership to project unity.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Raja Warring described Shamsher Singh Dullo as one of the party’s most respected leaders.
“Shamsher Singh Dullo is the most senior leader of our party and is an institution in himself. Every young and senior leader has something to learn from his vast political experience,” Warring said.
He added that Dullo had always stood by the Congress during challenging times and played an important role in strengthening the organisation.
“I came here to seek his blessings, benefit from his experience and exchange views in the interest of the party. The meeting was held in a very positive and cordial atmosphere,” Warring said.
Responding to questions on the ongoing infighting within the Punjab Congress, Warring downplayed reports of a serious crisis, saying differences within a political party were natural.
“There can be minor differences in every family. These issues will be resolved soon, and all Congress leaders will stand united on one platform to fight the upcoming elections in the interest of Punjab,” he asserted.
The meeting comes at a time when the Punjab Congress has witnessed growing internal dissent, making every high-level interaction within the party closely watched by political observers.
