Senior Assistants, Superintendents and Under Secretaries Promoted in Punjab Secretariat

The Punjab Government has ordered the promotion of 13 officers of the Punjab Civil Secretariat to higher posts in the Secretariat hierarchy. The promotions include Senior Assistants to Superintendents, Superintendents to Under Secretaries, and Under Secretaries to Deputy Secretaries.
According to the orders:

Nine Senior Assistants have been promoted as Superintendents in Level-16 of the Punjab Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2021. The promotions include candidates from the General, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (VH & HH) and Scheduled Caste categories.

Three Superintendents have been promoted as Under Secretaries in Level-21 of the revised pay structure. The promoted officers belong to the General and Persons with Disabilities (Orthopaedically Handicapped) categories.

One Under Secretary has been promoted as Deputy Secretary in Level-23 of the revised pay structure.
The government clarified that all the promotions are subject to the final outcome of CWP No. 8726 of 2026 pending before the Punjab and Haryana High Court and other applicable service rules and conditions. The orders also state that the promotions have been made in accordance with the Punjab Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2021 and the government's instructions regarding reservation in promotions.
