New Delhi, July 27, 2026: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a 'National Town Hall Against E20' to be held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on August 1, as part of its campaign against E20-blended petrol. The event will begin at 11:30 am and will be open to participants both in person and online.
Announcing the initiative at a press conference, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the Town Hall will bring together experts, vehicle owners and citizens concerned about the impact of E20 fuel. He said the programme would also help determine the future course of the campaign against the fuel blend.
Kejriwal appealed to people across the country to participate in large numbers. Those unable to attend physically can join the event online by sending a WhatsApp message to 8588833212, after which a participation link will be shared before the programme.
The AAP leader alleged that E20-blended petrol is causing damage to vehicles and reducing fuel efficiency. He urged the Central Government to address public concerns before the issue develops into a larger movement.
Drawing a parallel with the recent controversy over examination paper leaks, Kejriwal claimed that public pressure had led to the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He said citizens should similarly unite to raise their voice against E20 fuel.
"I appeal to the Prime Minister to resolve the E20 issue before it grows into a major public movement, just as the paper leak issue did," Kejriwal said.
He also revealed that an online petition addressed to the Prime Minister has already received over two lakh submissions. Kejriwal said he plans to visit the Prime Minister's residence next week to submit the representations.
The Town Hall is scheduled to take place at the Constitution Club, New Delhi, on August 1, 2026, from 11:30 am, with participation available both offline and online.
