In a important political and organisational development in the Bathinda region, Randeep Singh Sidhu of Kalyan Sukha has been appointed Chairman of the Market Committee, Nathana.
Sidhu’s appointment is being viewed as an important recognition of the role played by grassroots workers in strengthening the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the region. Known among party workers for his active involvement and hardworking approach, Sidhu has remained associated with the party’s organisational activities at the ground level.
The appointment assumes significance as market committees have a direct interface with farmers, commission agents, traders and the rural economy. Sidhu’s elevation is therefore likely to give the AAP another active organisational face in the agricultural belt.
Party circles Hardeep Singh Sra Chairman DPC, Raman Sidhu President District Youth Wing Paramjit Singh KotFatta Chairman PLADB Bank have welcomed the decision, describing Sidhu as a committed worker who has consistently remained connected with the party cadre and people at the grassroots. His supporters said the appointment reflects the party leadership’s confidence in workers who have worked at the ground level rather than merely holding organisational positions.
The development is also being seen as part of the AAP’s efforts to maintain and strengthen its political presence in the rural areas of Bathinda district, particularly among the farming community.
After his appointment, Sidhu expressed gratitude to the party leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility and said he would work with dedication and sincerity. He assured that the interests of farmers, traders and other stakeholders associated with the Nathana market would remain his priority.
