AAP to hold ‘Jashan-e-Inquilab’ at PAU Ludhiana on Sept 28, over 1.25 lakh youth registered

Chandigarh, September 25, 2026: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab will organise ‘Jashan-e-Inquilab’ at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, on September 28 to mark the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, AAP Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Parminder Singh Goldy said on Friday.
Addressing a press conference along with AAP MLA and Youth Wing president Manjinder Singh Lalpura, Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Shery Kalsi and Youth Wing state vice-president Bir Davinder Singh, Goldy said more than 1.25 lakh youngsters had registered for the programme so far.
Goldy said the event was aimed at engaging Punjab’s youth and promoting sports and other activities. He said the state government had provided sports grounds, indoor and outdoor gyms and platforms such as Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan and youth runs.
The main programme at PAU will begin at 3 pm on September 28, while university students will present their art and talent ahead of the main event. Singer Ranjit Bawa is scheduled to perform during the evening, while Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is expected to address the youth, according to the AAP leaders.
Lalpura said the response to youth marathons in different parts of Punjab had demonstrated, according to the party, the interest of young people in sports and public events. He cited the marathons held in Mohali and Bathinda and said thousands of youngsters had participated.
He said the party had planned the Ludhiana event to mark Bhagat Singh’s birth anniversary and connect young people with his legacy.
Shery Kalsi said Bhagat Singh’s ideology remained relevant to the youth and claimed that the AAP government had prioritised the ideas associated with Bhagat Singh and Dr BR Ambedkar.
He also criticised the Shiromani Akali Dal, Congress and BJP, alleging that these parties had portrayed Punjab and its youth negatively by associating the state with drug abuse. Kalsi said the participation of young people in sports and marathon events showed their interest in activities beyond drugs.
Bir Davinder Singh said the AAP Youth Wing had started its youth outreach with a marathon in Mohali, which, according to him, saw around 10,000 participants. He said subsequent events were organised in Jalandhar and Bathinda, with around 25,000 participants reported at the Bathinda event.
The AAP leaders also jointly released the poster for the September 28 ‘Jashan-e-Inquilab’ programme.
