‘Kabaad se Jugaad’ turns railway scrap into creative artworks under Swachhata Hi Seva 2026
Ferozepur, September 28, 2026: As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, Diesel Shed Ludhiana has undertaken an innovative ‘Kabaad se Jugaad’ initiative, transforming discarded and scrap materials into attractive and meaningful artworks.
Divisional Railway Manager, Ferozeur, Sanjeev Kumar appreciated the efforts of the Diesel Shed employees and commended their creativity, dedication and team spirit in giving discarded materials a new purpose.
Technically skilled and ISO-certified welders of the Diesel Shed creatively repurposed scrap to create artworks including ‘Bharat Ka Sipahi’, ‘Samay Ki Keemat’, ‘Jugaad Gun’ and ‘Jugaad Cannon’. The creations highlight the importance of recycling, environmental conservation and optimum utilisation of available resources.
The artworks have been displayed at Adarsh Park, which was dedicated to the nation during Operation Sindoor. Employees from different sections of the Diesel Shed worked for nearly a month with dedication and team spirit to complete the creative installations.
Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Diesel Shed Ludhiana, Rahul Bharti, sensitised employees about environmental conservation, cleanliness and the judicious reuse of available resources. He also emphasised the need to encourage similar creative and environment-friendly initiatives in the future.
