Gurugram (Haryana), October 2, 2026: The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has suspended two Regional Officers posted in Gurugram with immediate effect, following complaints concerning pollution-related issues in the city.
The suspended officers are Akansha, Regional Officer, Gurugram (North), and Mukul Kumar, Regional Officer, Gurugram (South).
The suspension orders were issued by Shekhar Vidyarthi, IAS, Chairman, HSPCB, on October 2, 2026.
According to the order concerning Akansha, she has been placed under suspension with immediate effect and her headquarters during the suspension period will be the HSPCB Head Office in Sector 6, Panchkula. She will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per the applicable rules.
A separate order issued on the same day placed Mukul Kumar, Regional Officer, Gurugram (South), under suspension with immediate effect. His headquarters during the suspension period will also be the HSPCB headquarters in Panchkula.
The action came amid complaints reportedly being received from resident welfare associations (RWAs) in Gurugram regarding pollution-related concerns. The suspension orders, however, do not specify the allegations or grounds leading to the action.
Both orders were circulated to senior HSPCB officials and concerned administrative and IT officers for information and necessary action.
The orders were issued from the HSPCB headquarters at C-11, Sector 6, Panchkula, and carry endorsement numbers 5875 and 5876, respectively.
