Chandigarh, October 10, 2026: Lok Sabha MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal has called for greater use of artificial intelligence (AI), modern technology and market-oriented practices to create business opportunities for young people and improve farmers’ incomes in Punjab.
Jindal made the remarks while attending Campus Camp Season 2 at Chandigarh University, where he discussed the startup ecosystem, the potential of AI and the need to connect agriculture with technology and industry.

He appreciated Chandigarh University’s efforts to develop a startup ecosystem in collaboration with IIT Madras, saying such platforms enable young entrepreneurs to present their ideas, interact with experts and explore opportunities for funding and mentorship.
On concerns about the potential drawbacks of AI, Jindal said every technology could have both benefits and risks, but should be approached with a positive and practical outlook.
Comparing AI to the discovery of fire, he said the technology could transform human life by helping people process information and respond to challenges more quickly.
Jindal also highlighted the scope for startups in Punjab, saying innovation and entrepreneurship could create new opportunities for the state’s youth. He stressed the need to apply technological advances to agriculture, particularly to address challenges affecting farmers’ earnings.
He called for greater efforts to reduce crop wastage, promote natural farming and make farmers aware of emerging technologies. He also emphasised the importance of choosing crops according to market demand to improve returns and strengthen the agricultural sector.
Responding to questions about concerns surrounding the country’s political institutions and opposition protests, Jindal said opposition parties continued to raise various issues. He maintained that public confidence in the country’s institutions remained intact and said India was progressing towards becoming a developed nation.
