Ferozepur, October 25: Around 1,800 women participated in the first-ever Karwa Chauth Mela organised in Ferozepur by Tina Rana Sodhi, wife of senior BJP leader Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi. The event featured Punjabi music, gidda, mehndi, comedy and gifts.
Continuing the Rana family's tradition of organising Karwa Chauth celebrations for nearly 18 years, the event brought together women from across the city.
Singer Meet Kaur from Jammu entertained the gathering with Punjabi songs, while women enjoyed gidda and dance performances. Comedy artiste Prateek Sharma and his team added to the festivities with humorous performances. A mehndi arrangement and a Punjabi-language quiz, with gifts for winners, were also among the attractions.
The organisers said around 2,500 gift kits, each valued at approximately Rs 2,500, had been prepared. The kits included makeup products, a shawl and other utility items.
Thanking the participants, Tina Rana Sodhi said the affection and support extended by women and their families had made the celebration memorable.
