Chandigarh, October 25, 2026: Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon on Sunday criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over the drug problem after the words “Chitta Hi Chitta” were reportedly written on walls in Doomwali village of Bathinda district.
Dhillon said the writings reflected public concern over the alleged open sale of ‘chitta’, a term commonly used for heroin, and questioned the state government’s claims of making Punjab drug-free through its ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ (War Against Drugs) campaign.
He said it was worrying that people had resorted to writing about the drug problem on the walls of their own homes. He added that the distress of mothers whose young sons had fallen prey to drugs highlighted the gravity of the situation.
Targeting the AAP government, Dhillon said the campaign appeared to be limited to advertisements and public claims, while the ground situation continued to raise concerns. He said the party had promised to eliminate drugs within three months of coming to power, but the problem remained despite more than four years of its tenure.
Dhillon also referred to the demand for justice in the case of Paraminder
