Rupnagar (Punjab), March 3, 2025: A crucial meeting of ASHA workers was held at Ayushman Arogya Kendra, Akbarpur, focusing on their pivotal role in community healthcare.
The session, led by Community Health Officer Gurvinder Kaur, ANM Veena Rani, and Health Worker Harjit Singh, covered maternal and child health, vaccination drives, and the effective implementation of government health schemes.
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Anand Ghai praised ASHA workers as the backbone of the health system, recognizing their dedication to raising health awareness, ensuring maternal and child care, and bridging the gap between the community and government healthcare initiatives. "With their relentless efforts, quality health services can reach every household," he remarked.
Block Extension Educator Sahil Sukhera highlighted the need for ASHA workers to stay updated on evolving healthcare technologies and policies.
"Their role is vital in executing vaccination programs, nutrition initiatives, and disease prevention efforts. Continuous training and awareness will enhance their ability to serve the community effectively," he said.
The meeting addressed key public health concerns, including immunization, nutrition programs, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and early disease detection. ASHA workers were also briefed on the major initiatives under the Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre.
An interactive session allowed ASHA workers to share field experiences and discuss the challenges they face.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery, enhancing public awareness, and ensuring timely medical interventions for the community.
