Mohali Police busts drug network: Head constable among 3 arrested with 1.8 kg charas
Major success in ‘War Against Drugs’ Campaign

SAS Nagar (Punjab), March 7, 2025:Under its ongoing campaign ‘War Against Drugs,’ Mohali Police has made a significant breakthrough by arresting three individuals, including a serving Head Constable of the 82nd Battalion of Punjab Police. The police recovered 1.8 kg of Charas from their possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek, IPS, stated that on March 6, 2025, a special operation was conducted by Probationer DSP Preet Kanwar Singh and SHO Dhakoli, leading to the arrest of the accused.
The police registered FIR No. 24 dated 06-03-2025 under Sections 20, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act at Dhakoli Police Station. The accused were caught along with an Activa scooter (HR-03Y-2683).
- Gurjeet Singh alias Mani alias Ganji – Resident of Manimajra, Chandigarh.
- Davinder Kumar – A Senior Constable in Punjab Police (Belt No. 500/82 Battalion, Chandigarh), resident of Roopnagar.
- Ankush Pal – Resident of Kotla Khurad, Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Criminal Background of Accused:
- Gurjeet Singh was previously booked under FIR No. 83 dated 11-06-2024, under the NDPS Act at Dhali Police Station, Shimla.
- Ankush Pal was earlier arrested in FIR No. 116 dated 05-07-2024, under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Dhali Police Station, Shimla.
The accused have been remanded into police custody for further interrogation to uncover their drug supply network.
SSP Deepak Pareek, along with DSP Zirakpur Jaspinder Singh and SHO Preet Kanwar Singh, emphasized that Mohali Police is intensifying its efforts to eradicate drug trafficking.
Continuous raids are being conducted across various hideouts, leading to multiple arrests and the seizure of substantial narcotics.The police reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating the drug menace from the district.
