Indianapolis, May 20, 2018: More than 25 boys and girls appeared for the three-hour tennis selection-cum-camp organized by USTA Midwest at the Indiana Racquet Club on Saturday. National faculty coach for the state of Indiana this year is Matt Dektas who works out of Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been involved with the Early Development Camp program for several years and has lots of experience with 10 and under programs in the Midwest Section.
The coaching team for this year comprised Lisane Swartwood, Jamie Dieveney, Parveen Kumar and Molly Card-Beckman.
USTA Midwest will be hosting four 10 and Under player “Combines” to identify and invite 120 promising players aged 10 and under to take part in a series of four USTA Early Development Orange and Green Ball Tennis Camps throughout the summer/fall. Each state combine will be complete with drills and fun activities to test players’ athletic and tennis acumen.
According to USTA Midwest website 'Early Development Camps' are the first step in the USTA Player Development Pathway and a great way for child to grow as an athlete and tennis player.The combines are completely free to attend and will be a fun 3 hours of athletic and tennis skill development and testing!"

USTA/Midwest Junior Department Operations Coordinator Olivia Pursell and Executive Director/Director of Junior Programming Judy Tilmont were there to lend an administrative hand in everything.
USTA Midwest have a packed schedule of camps this year with six total locations. The overall registrations are still rolling and efforts are on to making that number increase.
