Nishant Kumar Yadav assumes charges as new DC, Chandigarh UT

Chandigarh, November 8, 2024: Nishant Kumar Yadav joined Chandigarh UT as the new Deputy Commissioner on Friday. Nishant Kumar Yadav, a 2013 batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh.
This appointment was approved by the Appointment Committee of the Central Government. Nishant Yadav, who was currently the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram, has also previously served in important posts in Karnal. Chandigarh Administration has got a new Deputy Commissioner.
Nishant Kumar Yadav, a 2013 batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, has been appointed to the post of DC by the Home Ministry.Yadav will serve in the UT on deputation for three years. Orders can be issued anytime regarding the release of the current DC Vinay Pratap Singh.
The current Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh, Vinay Pratap Singh, was sent to Chandigarh in November 2021. Orders for his appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Central Government have been issued, but there is a discussion that instead of going to the Center after the BJP government comes to power in Haryana, he wishes to take up an important post in Haryana itself.
He is a graduate in Chemical Engineering from IIT-Delhi and became an IAS at the age of just 23 after clearing the Civil Services Examination. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS officer of the Haryana cadre 2013 batch, is a young IAS officer. He is about 34 years old.
Yadav is counted among the efficient, hardworking, and capable officers. IAS Nishant Yadav is also an IIT pass-out. He has a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT-Delhi.
After this, while preparing for the civil services, Nishant Yadav passed the Civil Services Examination in his first attempt at the age of 23.
In February 2022, he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram.Earlier, Nishant Yadav also served as Deputy Commissioner of Karnal, the constituency of former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
After passing out and training in the civil service, Yadav's first posting was as Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Sonipat. Nishant Yadav has also held the post of Secretary in the Haryana Public Service Commission.
