Four Punjab cadre IPS officers empanelled for IG-level posts at Centre

New Delhi, May 29, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of four senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the Punjab cadre for appointment to Inspector General (IG) or equivalent posts at the Centre.
The empanelment was cleared as part of a nationwide review process for senior central deputation assignments. According to an official memorandum issued from New Delhi, the Ministry of Home Affairs approved a total of 68 IPS officers from across the country belonging to the 2007 and 2008 batches for IG-level positions.
Among the Punjab cadre officers from the 2008 batch who received clearance are Jagadale Nilambari Vijay, Rahul S., and Bikram Pal Singh Bhatty. In addition, Inderbir Singh, a 2007-batch IPS officer, has also been empanelled for central postings.
The empanelled officers will now be eligible for appointment to key positions in central security, intelligence, and administrative organisations under the Government of India.
