2012-batch IPS officer appointed Wildlife Crime Control Bureau Deputy Director

New Delhi, August 22, 2026: IPS officer Parhlad Narayan Meena (IPS:2012:UK) has been appointed Deputy Director (Intelligence & Coordination) in the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
The appointment has been made on deputation under the Non-Central Staffing Scheme of the Environment Ministry, following approval by the competent authority.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on August 20, 2026, Meena’s deputation will be for a period of five years from the date he assumes charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The Uttarakhand government has been directed to relieve the officer immediately so that he can take charge of his new assignment at the Centre.
Meena’s appointment comes as part of the Centre’s administrative arrangements for strengthening intelligence and coordination mechanisms related to wildlife crime control.
