70th Punjab School State Boxing Championships Conclude in Ferozepur; Young Boxers Display Grit and Skill
Ferozepur, October 10, 2026: The Under-19 Boxing competitions of the 70th Punjab School State Games, being organised in Ferozepur under the directions of the Punjab School Education Department, concluded amid an enthusiastic and sporting atmosphere.
School boxers from different districts of Punjab showcased their boxing skills, technical expertise, competitive spirit and sportsmanship during the state-level championships. The competitions provided a platform for young players to demonstrate their talent and compete at the highest school level in the state.
The championships were inaugurated by Ferozepur MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar, District Education Officer Manila Arora and Deputy District Education Officer Dr Satinder Singh. The CEO of the Cantonment Board and several other dignitaries also witnessed the boxing bouts. District Boxing Association president Parminder Singh Thind and members of his team remained present during the event.
At the concluding ceremony, winners were honoured with medals by District Education Officer Manila Arora, Principal Aashi Sharma, DM Sports Aksh, former international boxer and coach Lakshmi, and District Boxing Association president Parminder Singh Thind.
The speakers said that sporting events of this nature play an important role in encouraging youngsters to adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle and keeping them away from drugs and other social evils. They expressed confidence that the successful players would go on to represent Punjab and the country at national and international levels.
Among those present were former international boxer and coach Lakshmi, DM Sports Aksh, lecturer Dalbir Singh ‘Neetu Pehalwan’, Superintendent Aksh, Sukhchain Singh, Jasbir Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Manpreet Kaur (Cantonment Board), Gurpreet Kaur, DP Amandeep Kaur, coach Rahul, Kulwinder Kaur, Jugdeep Singh, Jaspal Singh, Ranjit Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Navinder Kamboj, Gursahib Singh, Varinder Pal Singh, Sunil Kumar and officials from various districts of Punjab.
