Sohana Hospital celebrates National Cancer Survivors Day

Mohali (Punjab), June 7, 2026: Sohana Hospital, Sector 77, Mohali, celebrated National Cancer Survivors Day with great enthusiasm and emotion. On the occasion, cancer survivors and their families were specially honored for their strength and resilience.
The event, organized at Radisson Red Hotel, commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the presence of cancer survivors, their family members, and doctors. Music, dance performances, games, and the sharing of inspiring experiences made the celebration memorable and uplifting.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gautam Goel, Director, Medical Oncology, said that quality cancer care is not limited to medicines alone; transparency in treatment costs and earning patients’ trust are equally important.
He emphasized that the journey of becoming a survivor begins the moment a patient chooses hope over fear.
Trust Secretary Gurmeet Singh highlighted that advancements in modern therapies are continuously improving cancer treatment outcomes. However, he stressed that awareness remains the most powerful weapon against the disease and urged people to undergo timely screening, especially in view of the rising incidence of cancer in Punjab.
Robotic Cancer Surgeon Dr. Shyam Sunder Trehan explained that robotic surgery enables complex procedures to be performed with greater precision, resulting in faster recovery for patients. Medical Oncologist Dr. Nitish Garg noted that personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs are making cancer care more effective.
Sohana Hospital CEO Dr. Gagandeep Singh Sachdeva said that the hospital’s mission extends beyond treating cancer to providing every patient with support, dignity, and encouragement.
