Congress leader Happy Malik marks Imran Pratapgarhi's birthday with blood donation drive, 181 units collected

Mohali (Punjab), August 7, 2026: Marking the birthday of Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhi, Punjab-based entrepreneur and Congress leader Happy Malik organised a blood donation camp at Jhampur in Mohali, where 181 units of blood were collected.
The camp witnessed the participation of around 200–250 volunteers, with the donated blood expected to benefit patients in need.
Speaking on the occasion, Happy Malik said the celebrations were dedicated to social service rather than festivities. He informed that similar blood donation camps were organised at around 17 locations across Punjab and Haryana to promote voluntary blood donation.
He described blood donation as a noble act that can save lives and encouraged people, especially the youth, to come forward and contribute to such humanitarian initiatives.
Following the blood donation drive, Happy Malik also organised a Langar (community meal) outside the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, for underprivileged people and attendants of patients. He said the initiative aimed to support families who travel from distant places for medical treatment and often struggle to arrange meals.
Praising Imran Pratapgarhi, Malik described him as a dedicated and socially committed leader, adding that the service initiatives reflected the values of compassion, humanity and selfless service.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from volunteers and social workers, spreading awareness about blood donation and the importance of helping those in need.
