Lamrin Tech Skills University launches Nursing courses in Punjab

Nawanshahr (Punjab), August 7, 2026: Lamrin Tech Skills University, Punjab, has launched new nursing programmes, including B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), at its newly established University College of Nursing.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Puneet Girdhar, Registrar of the Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), as the chief guest. The event began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Dr. Girdhar was welcomed by Dr. A.S. Chawla and other senior university officials.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Girdhar said nursing is a globally recognised profession with a standardized curriculum in many countries, creating opportunities for graduates to build careers both in India and abroad.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. A.S. Chawla said the newly launched programmes have received approval from the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC). He added that the university aims to combine skill-based learning with nursing education to improve students' employability and prepare them for successful careers.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. B.S. Satyal said the programmes offer students an opportunity to build meaningful careers while contributing to society through the nursing profession.
Principal of the University College of Nursing Dr. Rajinder Kaur said the institution has partnered with reputed hospitals and laboratories to provide hands-on clinical training using modern equipment and advanced facilities. She added that the college has an experienced faculty committed to delivering quality nursing education.
Among those present at the event were Vimal Manhotra (CEO), Dr. N.S. Gill, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Dr. H.P.S. Dhami, Dr. Amit Sharma, and other senior university officials.
