IRCTC launches 11-Day ‘Sapta Jyotirlinga Mahayatra’ on Bharat Gaurav Deluxe Tourist Train
Pilgrimage train to cover seven Jyotirlingas across MP, Gujarat and Maharashtra; departs from Delhi on Sept 25
Ferozepur, August 7, 2026: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the launch of a new spiritual tourism circuit, the "Sapta Jyotirlinga Mahayatra", aboard the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train. The 11-day pilgrimage will commence from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on September 25, 2026, covering seven revered Jyotirlinga shrines across Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The specially curated itinerary includes visits to Mahakaleshwar at Ujjain, Omkareshwar on the Narmada River, Nageshwar near Dwarka, Somnath, Bhimashankar, Grishneshwar and Trymbakeshwar, along with other prominent religious and heritage sites.
The tour begins in Madhya Pradesh with visits to the Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar temples before proceeding to Gujarat, where pilgrims will visit the Dwarkadhish Temple, Rukmini Devi Temple, Beyt Dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga and Somnath Temple. The Gujarat leg also includes visits to Somnath Beach and Bhalka Tirth.
In Maharashtra, the train will take pilgrims to Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga near Pune, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ellora featuring the Kailash Temple, Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga and the Trymbakeshwar Temple at Nashik. The itinerary also includes Panchvati, associated with Lord Rama's exile, before the train returns to Delhi.
IRCTC said the Bharat Gaurav Deluxe Tourist Train offers modern facilities, including AC I, AC II and AC III accommodation, onboard vegetarian meals, enhanced safety features and dedicated tour managers. Unlike conventional pilgrimage tours, the package includes overnight stays in three-star hotels at major destinations to ensure greater comfort.
The all-inclusive package starts at Rs 88,810 per person on a triple-sharing basis and goes up to Rs 1,34,255 for single occupancy in AC First Class. The fare includes rail travel, hotel accommodation, vegetarian meals, sightseeing in air-conditioned vehicles, travel insurance and tour management services. The package also incorporates a 33 per cent concession provided by Indian Railways under the Bharat Gaurav Train Scheme to promote rail tourism.
