CASO AGAINST DRUGS : 42 hotspots raided, 15 arrested as Ferozepur Police enforce zero tolerance
Ferozepur, October 4, 2026: Today, as part of a synchronized statewide drive directed by the Special DGP (Law & Order), Punjab, Ferozepur Police conducted an extensive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) across identified hotspots. To maximize impact, maximum available manpower was mobilized across the district: a total force of 440 police personnel led by 9 Gazetted Officers (GOs) was deployed on the ground.
The operation in Ferozepur City was personally led on the ground by Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, SSP while simultaneous CASO drives were carried out across all designated hotspots in the district under the direct supervision of the respective Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs)—covering Sub-Division City Ferozepur, Sub-Division Guru Har Sahai (GHS), Sub-Division Rural Ferozepur, and Sub-Division Zira.
SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said the police were continuing their campaign against drug trafficking as part of the Punjab government’s war against drugs. He said around 450 police personnel were involved in the operation, during which Focused crackdowns on listed drug peddlers and suppliers to dismantle local supply networks. He added that further arrests and recoveries were expected as the operation was still underway.
SSP warned drug traffickers to immediately abandon the illegal trade, failing which they would have to spend the rest of their lives in jail.
Further emphasis was also laid on tracking down and apprehending wanted accused, Proclaimed Offenders (POs), bail jumpers, and other anti-social elements operating within the district.
