DC honours 35 meritorious students with "Education Excellence Award-2026"
Ferozepur, May 22, 2026: In a special initiative aimed at motivating students towards higher education and a competitive academic environment, the District Administration Ferozepur and the School Education Department, Punjab, organised a district-level felicitation ceremony to honour meritorious students who secured positions in the merit list of Classes 8, 10, and 12 declared recently by the Punjab School Education Board.
The function was held under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma, during which 35 meritorious students were honoured with the “Education Excellence Award 2026.” District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Munila Arora and Deputy District Education Officer Dr. Satinder Singh, a National Awardee, were also specially present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma congratulated the students and described them as the pride of the district, their parents, and teachers. She said that through their hard work and dedication, these talented students have brought laurels to Ferozepur at the state level. She emphasized that education is the greatest strength in human life and such students become a source of inspiration for others.
District Education Officer Munila Arora said that behind every student’s success lies the hard work of teachers and the support of parents. She added that the Education Department is continuously making efforts to provide quality education so that students of government schools can establish their unique identity in every field.
Deputy DEO Dr. Satinder Singh said that such award ceremonies boost the morale of students and inspire them to achieve greater milestones in the future. He stated that students of government schools are setting new benchmarks in every sphere and today’s merit holders will motivate other students to excel in academics and life.
He also encouraged students to set high goals and work consistently to achieve them, adding that education is the strongest foundation for social progress.
