Punish those behind massacre of innocent farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri: Damanvir Phillaur
Judicial probe ordered needs to be unbiased: Damanvir Phillaur
Chandigarh, October 4, 2021:
Those behind the massacre of innocent Sikh farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh must be brought to book at the earliest, said Punjab Congress leader S Damanvir Phillaur on Monday, while demanding an 'independent' probe into the killing of 4 Sikh farmers.
“The massacre of innocent Sikh farmers has rattled all across the country. Those behind the massacre must be brought to book. The judicial probe into the massacre should not be influenced so that the culprits are punished at the earliest,” said Phillaur, also the founder of Phillaur People’s Forum (PPF), in a statement.
Terming the incident a serious one, Phillaur said: “Four Sikh farmers have been butchered to death. The key accused is said to be the son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra. The culprits, however influential, should be booked.”
Asserting that Sikhs are known for their sacrifices to free the nation from oppressors, Phillaur said, “We must know that Sikhs' sacrifices have never gone in vain. Farmers will win and their oppressors and killers will be decimated,” he said in the statement.
