Lakhmipur Kheri Incident: Under ‘rail-roko’ call by SKM, farmers stopped trains at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, October 18, 2021: On a ‘rail-roko’ call by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) for a six-hour-long nationwide agitation on Monday, the train on Ferozepur-Fazilka Section was stopped at 5.15 am today. The other train stopped, as per the information was at Moga at 6 am while all the three lines were blocked on Ferozepur-Ludhiana Section at 5.25 am.
The farmers had been demanding the removal of Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni from the Union Cabinet over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, in which his son Ashish Mishra Teni is an accused.
A total of eight people including four farmers died in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. SKM had alleged Ashish Mishra shot a farmer while the others were run over by the vehicles of his convey.
