Jalandhar, March 3, 2024 - Mahila Kisan Union, a member of Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), strongly condemned BJP's decision to give a Lok Sabha ticket to killer Teni Mishra and expressed deep disappointment over this move and said that with this decision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rubbed salt on the wounds of the farmers.
In a statement, Mahila Kisan Union (MKU) president Biba Rajwinder Kaur Raju said that the people of the country will not forget this insult and will respond in the upcoming elections.He said that M.K.U. Calls for a complete boycott of the BJP in the upcoming elections.
A female farmer leader lamented that Teni Mishra and her son Ashish Mishra are living proof of recklessness towards human life and unilateral violence against farmers who ran down their vehicle in broad daylight in Lakhimpur Khiri incident in Uttar Pradesh, killing four farmers and one. are directly responsible for killing the journalist.
He said that despite being involved in murder cases , Mishra has been awarded a parliamentary ticket which is a clear message of the Modi government's utter indifference to farmers' problems. Biba Raju asserted that getting justice for the victims of Lakhimpur Khiri is not only a demand but it is SKM's duty to guard it. has a moral responsibility.
He said that BJP's decision to give ticket to Mishra again, ignoring the widespread protest of farmers, shows its indifference and insensitivity to farmers' demands.
Further , Biba Raju condemned the brutal attacks by the Haryana Police on peaceful farmers sitting on the borders of Punjab, saying that the Modi government and its "double engine" governments are adopting double standards to deal with law and order.
He argued that such heinous acts were gross violations of human rights and reminiscent of historical atrocities like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar by General Michael O'Dwyer.
He clearly said that Mahila Kisan Union stands united with the farmers and laborers of the country like a rock and appeals to all the voters of the country to vote against BJP's politics of violence and injustice in the general elections.
