Chandigarh, February 17, 2024: The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister, member of the Congress Working Committee, former President of Haryana Congress, and in-charge of Uttarakhand Kumari Selja said that the common people are facing many difficulties due to the arbitrariness and authoritarianism of the alliance government in the state.
While on one hand, the shutdown of internet services has left students in a dilemma, online business has also come to a standstill. With the roads closed, around 11 thousand trucks are stranded, some of which carry perishable goods, causing distress to the transporters.
Patients are unable to reach hospitals, and students cannot reach their exam centers. The kind of governance that the BJP government is claiming is not what the people want.
In the upcoming elections, the people will hold the government accountable and show them the way out of power.
In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that the farmer organizations had announced a march to Delhi on February 13, but the Haryana alliance government shut down internet services in seven districts of the state on the night of February 10-11.
The government forgot the troubles people face due to the shutdown of internet services. Instead of providing relief, the government is continuously increasing this ban.
The government knows that exams have started, but students are unable to prepare due to the internet shutdown.
The shutdown has affected businesses, and online business has come to a complete halt. Young people are unable to apply for government appointments because applications have to be submitted online.
She said that on the other hand, the government has closed all major routes. As a result, around 11 thousand trucks are stuck on the roads. Most of the trucks were going to Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab from Delhi.
Some of these trucks contain perishable goods. Transporters are also distressed due to these circumstances. There is a shortage of goods in the market, and whatever goods are available are being sold at high prices.
Common people are being deprived of fruits and vegetables. The state government has nothing to do with the troubles of the people. The kind of governance that the BJP government is claiming is not what the people want.
In the upcoming elections, the people will hold the government accountable and show them the way out of power. Selja said that the promises made by the BJP before coming to power are now appearing completely opposite.
Due to the inclusion of the BJP's policies in the sentiments of the people of the country, every class is distressed.
