Polling booths in Khatkar Kalan ,native village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh decorated to pay tributes to martyrs

Nawanshahr, June 01, 2024: In a heartfelt homage to the rich legacy of India's freedom struggle and the inauguration of democracy, booths number 117 and 118 in Khatkar Kalan, under the purview of Banga Sub-Division in SBS Nagar, have been elegantly adorned.
Symbolizing the spirit of freedom, with Charkha, and various traditional utensils, alongside woven cots, stand as poignant reminders of our nation's journey towards freedom.
Addressing the significance of robust voter participation, Deputy Commissioner Shri Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa emphasized the need for a 75 percent voter turnout. He underscored that such tributes serve as a call to uphold the democratic ethos.
Echoing this sentiment, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri Rajeev Verma highlighted the pivotal role of Khatkar Kalan in India's struggle for independence. He emphasized the importance of themed booths in preserving and honoring our heritage and collective memory.
SDM Shri Vikramjeet Singh Panthey and Assistant Commissioner Dr. Gurleen Kaur, alongside Good Governance Fellow Asmita Parmar, and other esteemed district officials were present.
