SSP Fazilka visits border village Muhar Jasmer at Zero Line to review security at polling booths, encourage voters, election staff
Fazilka, June 1, 2024: To review the security arrangements at polling booths, encourage the voters and election staff at the Muhar Jasmer village of Fazilka district, SSP Fazilka, Dr Pragya Jain visited on the day of polling today. The village is situated across the barbed wire near the Indo-Pak border, touching from three sides by the Pakistan border and across the barbed wire on the Indian side.
The faith of the villagers in democracy is a source of inspiration for the countrymen. The people of this village have contributed a lot to democracy despite the hardships. This village is not only across the fencing line but also across the Sutlej River and when there are floods then the Sutlej River also becomes a barrier between this village and the rest of the country, but still, the contribution of these people to democracy is commendable.
The people of this village also enthusiastically participated in the voting and contributed to the strengthening of the country's democracy by participating in the election festival.
District SSP Dr. Pragya Jain said the people of this border village have participated in the Lok Sabha election festival, by voting enthusiastically to strengthen the democracy of the country.
SSP also encouraged the voters, the security personnel deployed here on election duty besides wishing the well-being of BSF soldiers who are also contributing to democracy while protecting the borders of the country in the extreme heat.
At this booth, 525 of the total 618 votes of the village were polled till 5 pm, which comes to 84.9 per cent.
