DEO honours elders, PwDs, first-time voters with certificates, saplings for environmental protection message
Ferozepur, 1 June 2024: On the day of polling in Ferozepur today for the Lok Sabha elections, in the last and 7th phase, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Rajesh Dhiman honoured the elder voters, persons with disability (PwDs) voters, first-time voters with certificate, saplings to convey the message of environmental protection at the specially set-up polling booths. ARO-cum-SDM, Dr Charumita, ARO-cum-DDPO, and Jaswant Singh Warraich, were also present on this occasion.
While reviewing the voting process and arrangements at Booth No. 50, 51, 52, 53 built at Model School Ferozepur Cantt, DEO-cum-DC, Rajesh Dhiman said that a total of 50 model polling stations have been set up to encourage voters in Lok Sabha Constituency 10-Ferozepur. , 15 Green/Eco-Friendly Polling Stations, 12 Disabled (PWD) Polling Stations, 12 Youth Polling Stations and 15 Women Polling Stations were also established. He said that after voting in these green booths, the voters were distributed fruit trees and shade trees and appealed to them to plant more plants by giving the message of environmental protection. Similarly, the young voters who voted for the first time and the old and disabled voters were also awarded certificates.
ARO-cum-DDPO Warraich honoured the PwDs voters and first-time voters with certificates, at booth numbers 93 and 94 at SBS State University.
Present among others were, Tehsildar Election Chand Prakash, DPRO. Dr. Amrik Singh, SVEEP Coordinator. Satinder Singh and CEO of DCM Group Anirudh Gupta, Election Kanugo Gagandeep Kaur, Sarabjit Singh Bhavra, Rajinder Kumar and Lakhwinder Singh were present.
