Sukhbir Badal condemns action on Sikh pilgrims in Himachal, demands immediate Govt intervention

Chandigarh, March 20, 2025 – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Sikh pilgrims in Himachal Pradesh, describing them as part of a "sustained hate campaign with political overtones."
Badal expressed deep concern over the incidents, stating that not only are Sikhs being targeted, but their religious symbols, including the Khalsa Nishan Sahib, are also being disrespected, escalating tensions between Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
He urged the Himachal Pradesh government to take swift action to prevent such incidents in the future. Additionally, he appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to convene a meeting with chief ministers of hill states to ensure the safety and dignity of Sikh pilgrims.
Badal emphasized that the Khalsa Nishan Sahib represents both Sikh faith and India's national pride, reminding authorities of the sacrifices made by the Sikh community to uphold the country's unity.He called for immediate intervention to restore communal harmony and prevent further unrest.
