Railway's Summer Coaching Camp concludes, Over 100 children honoured with certificates
Ferozepur, June 30, 2026: The successful closing ceremony of the Summer Coaching Camp organised by the Northern Railway Women Welfare Organisation and Divisional Sports Organisation of Ferozepur Division was held at the Railway Officers Club, Ferozepur.
During the camp, children were trained by experienced coaches in various activities including swimming, badminton, taekwondo, Zumba dance, table tennis, chess and yoga. More than 100 children participated enthusiastically and enhanced their skills by learning new activities.
Organised with the support of members of the Northern Railway Women Welfare Organisation, the camp benefited not only the children of railway employees but also children from outside the railway community. The camp received an overwhelming response from children and parents. Considering the enthusiasm of participants and the demand from parents, the duration of the camp, originally scheduled from June 1 to June 21, was extended up to June 30, 2026.
During the concluding ceremony, Divisional Railway Manager j Sanjeev Kumar presented certificates to the participating children and encouraged them. Coaches who contributed significantly to the successful conduct of the camp were also honoured with mementoes.
Speaking on the occasion, DRM Sanjeev Kumar said that children enjoyed participating in various sports activities during the summer camp. He added that such programmes provide a positive environment for physical and mental development while promoting friendship, teamwork and mutual cooperation among children.
He emphasised that participation in sports is more important than winning or losing, as it helps develop confidence, discipline and a positive attitude among youngsters. He assured that similar initiatives would continue to be organised regularly in the future.
