Fazilka, June 30: Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, IAS, today chaired a special meeting with members of the local trading community to discuss various issues concerning urban development and matters affecting the business fraternity.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur was also present during the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner held detailed deliberations with traders and patiently heard their concerns and suggestions regarding civic infrastructure and business-related challenges.
The meeting focused on various developmental issues, including sanitation, sewerage, solid waste management, improvement of basic amenities in markets, traffic regulation, strengthening of public safety measures and other issues affecting the ease of doing business in the city.
Emphasizing the district administration's commitment to responsive and people-centric governance, Amarpreet Sandhu assured the traders that all their genuine demands and grievances would be addressed on priority.
She said the administration is committed to creating a conducive environment for trade and commerce while ensuring better civic amenities for residents and the business community alike.
The Deputy Commissioner also issued necessary directions to the officers of the concerned departments present during the meeting to take prompt and coordinated action for resolving the issues raised by the traders.
She instructed the departments to ensure timely redressal of public grievances and implement necessary measures to improve civic services and infrastructure across the city.
The meeting witnessed constructive interaction between the district administration and representatives of the trading community, with both sides expressing their commitment to work together for the overall development of Fazilka and the promotion of a business-friendly environment.
Among those present were SDM Jugraj Singh, Executive Officer, Municipal Council Fazilka, Chairman, District Traders Commission, Anuraj Ahuja, Member, Punjab State Traders Commission, Atul Nagpal, besides officers from the Police Department, Power Department and other line departments, along with members of the local trading community.
